Constance Hobbs Bio

Constance Hobbs’s work has garnered national and international recognition, and has been featured in various leading galleries, major magazines, and many prestigious private collections in the United States, Switzerland, France, and England. She is currently experimenting in multimedia.

Her work evokes a response through the use of rich colors, graceful, elegant forms, and beautiful light. With a unique style that is dynamic, sensitive, and original, and a superb sense of design, Hobbs minimizes many of her images to their essence, which reveals the true beauty and power in simplicity. With clean lines, her photographs bring thoughtful unity, serenity, intelligence, and insight grounded in her depth of experience.

Hobbs began her career in fashion design, but with an eye for form, light, color, and design, she soon transitioned into photography. She predominately works on independent projects or series that explore the relationships between the natural and the cultivated, the world of the intellect and of feelings, and what lies beyond them both.

Constance Hobbs was born and raised in New York, where she continues to work and study. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and studied photography at Parsons The New School for Design and ICP.

Hobbs lives and works in New York, Palm Beach, Florida, and Geneva, Switzerland.
